I lead to provide structure, offer support, and drive impact.

To deliver on strategic initiatives, I lead multi-disciplinary departments and cross-functional teams. Both people and product need to be fostered along the way. I believe in helping people develop meaningful relationships with teammates and their product work, ultimately leading to positive contributions for the business and the intended audience.

Below are a few of my values around people and product that I do my best to live out.

leadership VALUES

People

I believe organizations should begin by supporting their people.

Empathy
I believe that listening to the thoughts and emotions of others is key to collaboration. I find being intentional and asking questions leads to greater understanding. I try to bring an empathetic attitude to each work situation I encounter.

Safety
I believe in creating diverse, psychologically safe environments in the workplace. Studies have proven that different types of people people perform better when they feel like they can engage vulnerably, leading to deeper pride in their work. I try to create collaborative spaces for all types of backgrounds and personality types with this in mind.

Wholeness
I believe that each person I work with is a whole person. They are not just the person that they bring to work, but rather they are a full human being with a life outside of work hours. I try to do my best to make sure that the health and wellness of my teams and peers come first.

Product

I believe that a good product will emerge with the right conditions and mindset.

Process
I believe that a solid structure helps guide decision-making. By investing in a framework with clear principles, the return will yield a better product with efficient timeline. I try to build in design methods and workflows appropriate to the context.

Quality
I believe that good business outcomes are tied to a well-built product. Taking time to understand audiences through research, developing a well-considered experience, and focusing on the details in production will pay dividends. I have a high bar for craft and execution.

Meaning
I believe that a product is much better when it feels significant to those creating it. Understanding and connecting with the ‘why’ of a product is a critical aspect of any business. I try to bring meaning to my team’s work for maximum connection and impact.
